My seven favourite bookshops on screen

I LOVE seeing bookshops on the big screen. Or on the telly. Anywhere, really. Here are some of my favourites.

manny
Black Books. Funniest episode ever! Elephants and Hens. Wherein Bernard and Manny try to write a kids’ book.
Woody Allen’s, Hannah and her Sisters. Got me reading E E Cummings.
Notting Hill
Carolina’s bookshop in Desperado. A good place to launder jingle…
Flourish and Blotts. Rowling dreams up the best names.
84 Charing Cross Road. When books were delivered in tea chests…
You’ve Got Mail. This gorgeous shop always puts me in mind of The Little Bookroom here in Melbourne.

I bet I’ve missed heaps. Let me know your favourites!

  1. Your picks are excellent. Can think of libraries in books but no other screen bookstores. Must ponder further. Or maybe watch more movies.
